To Celebrate Or Not To Celebrate

Diversity is the one thing we all have in common. Celebrate it every day.

Talking and thinking about holidays in early childhood programs is a "hot topic".

There is an increasing diversity of children, families, and staff who make up our programs.  A lot of us have ideas of how to celebrate holidays, or some of us think we shouldn’t.

There are some centres that choose ‘not to celebrate’, and others that try to celebrate all the holidays.

As an industry, we need to discuss whether "to celebrate or not to celebrate"

“A school needs to be a place for all children, not based on the idea that they are all the same, but that they are all different.”

-Loris Malaguzzi
